Buddy Holly tour bus

Many of us here in Seattle are Familar with The Triple X Rootbeer in Issaquah. It’s home to many Sunday afternoon classic car shows. The owner has purchased this 1958 Kenworth bus, that could be the original tour bus from the Buddy Holly,  “Tour of Stars” in 1958. It was during that tour that Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper” J P Richardson died in a single plane crash. The event inspired the Don McLean song, “The Day The Music Died”.

I took this image with my Canon G11. It was overcast and there was no real way to make it pop. I decided to use this LucasaArt “Whyeth” filter to give it a more illustrated and vintage  feel.
