This old barometer hangs on the wall over my editing computer. It reminds me of the two years that I lived on my sailboat.
In the early eighties, I decided that I wanted to live on a boat. I loved to sail, and I figured the only way I could afford the kind of boat I wanted, was to live on it.
This barometer is one of the few things that I still have from those days. It was mounted on the bulkhead in the main cabin, and it has literally and figuratively seen me through all the highs and lows since that time. Looking at it reminds me how much I loved living there. Maybe someday, not too long from now, I’ll do it again.

Catalina 30?
Yep. I kept my suits at work and showered on shore.
I always liked that boat, but never had one. We had a Catalina 25 for a couple of years, and have had a Starwind 27 for over 20 years. It seems we never make the time to go see it.
The Starwind 27 is a great boat. Where do you have it moored?
It’s in Oxnard, CA. We originally bought it in Texas. It is a great little boat. Handles very well. Too bad they were only made for a few years.
Sweet shots. You’ve not changed at all!
